In cases of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Bexley, drivers must be at least 21 years of age, although specific vehicles may have different age restrictions. A valid full driving license, appropriate for the vehicle type, is required and must have been held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Renters must present valid identification, proof of current address, and payment details, including a security deposit. Any additional requirements stated in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or at our Bexley location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle pickup, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and additional charges may apply. Ensure the fuel level is the same upon return; refueling fees will be charged if the tank is not full. Additional insurance options may be offered to help lower your potential financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse will fall under your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For exact details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous conduct. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, and all passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Driving outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Bexley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled exclusively within the jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
